Movie: Gravity (Hollywood)
Starring : Sandra Bullock, George Clooney
Director : Alfonso Cuaron
Producer : Alfonso Cuaron, David Heyman
Music Director : Steven Price
Release date : 11 October 2013
Rating : 4.5/5
Verdict : Awesome Breath taking movie. Must watch
George Clooney and Sandra Bullock teamed up for the sic-fi adventure flick ‘Gravity’. The movie has been directed by Alfonso Cuaron and Warner Brothers studio distributed it. ‘Gravity’ has been receiving tons and tons of critical acclaim across the world. The movie is releasing tomorrow in India and premiere shows have been held on Thursday night in all the major Indian cities. Let us check out the film now.
Story :
Dr. Ryan Stone (Sandra Bullock) is a mission specialist who is on her first trip into outer space. She is tasked with the service of the Hubble Telescope and she is accompanied on this spacewalk by the fun loving Mission Commander Matthew Kowalski (George Clooney). Matthew is a space veteran and this is his final mission.
A routine spacewalk turns into a nightmare when space debris from a blown up russian satellite heads their way at terrifying speed. Flying debris in outer space can be devastatingly dangerous and Dr. Ryan Stone experiences this first hand.
The debris destroys the Space Shuttle and claims a few casualties. Only Dr. Stone and Matthew survive. Together, they must battle falling oxygen levels, overwhelming odds and equipment failure. Their only hope?? The International Space Station and the Chinese Space Station.
Can they reach the ISS or the Chinese Space Station in time? That is the story of this sic-fi thriller
Plus Points :
The movie can only be described as a breathtaking trip into outer space. The visuals are so overwhelmingly phenomenal. After James Cameron’s ‘Avatar’, this is the first film that is truly worth watching in 3D.
George Clooney and Sandra Bullock have done a great job in the film. But their acting skills play second fiddle to the storytelling ability of Alfonso Cuaron and the cinematography of Emmanuel Lubezki.
The zero gravity simulation is perfect. Objects and people float around exactly as they should and nothing seems artificial. Attention to detail is phenomenal. In one scene, Sandra Bullock loses hope and cries. The tears from her eyes form round droplets and float around her, just as they would in real life.
There are no loopholes in the plot. In fact, it is quite an achievement to narrate a simple and linear storyline like this in such a thrilling manner. Despite the stunning 3D effects and the grand visuals, emotional connect never takes a backseat. Viewers will connect strongly with Sandra Bullock’s character. Her fears become our fears and her triumphs will make us cheer.
Minus Points :
There is nothing bad about this film. If I have to look for a fault, perhaps it would be George Clooney’s limited screen presence.
Technical Aspects :
Each and every technical department has performed exceptionally in the film. The cinematography is outstanding, like I already said. Editing is neat and clever. Background score is perfectly in sync with the emotion of the scene and the dialogues are very nice.
Alfonso Cuaron has set a new benchmark for screenplay and direction with this movie. It will be a big disappointment if he does not pick up the oscar for Best Director.
Verdict :
There are good films and then there are great films. But very rarely, we might just be lucky enough to watch a film that sets a new standard for filmmaking. ‘Gravity’ is one such movie. This film is a once in a lifetime experience. Do watch ‘Gravity’ in the best theater that is available in your city. It is a breathtaking journey into outer space

Title :Attarintiki Daredi (2013)
Star Cast : Pawan Kalyan, Samantha …
Director : Trivikram Srinivas
Producer : B V N S Prasad
Genre : Action – Romance
Music : Devi Sri Prasad
Rating: 3.5/5
Released on : – 27th September 2013

If a director gets Pawan’s dates then there is no need for him to toil hard. Come up with story riding on Pawan’s image, just place a weapon in Pawan’s hands, create a mannerism, add four fights and six songs, the job is done. The movie will sure become a hit. That’s the power of Pawan Kalyan. His cut-out draws huge crowds. Just his presence translates a movie into blockbuster. But if a director scores a hit solely based on Powerstar’s image then what is his greatness? Exactly with this thought, Trivikram has come up with a brand new plot for Powerstar. Trivikram has placed a huge mass hero like Pawan Kalyan in a complete class story. Trivikram took the risk of placing a high voltage action star like Pawan in a tender and touching family drama. How much risk a director has to take to title a movie starring mass hero like Pawan as Attharintiki daredi? Trivikram has taken that risk. More importantly Powerstar has shown his guts by supporting Trivikram in this classy act. As a result, a new side of Pawan Kalyan has been unveiled in this movie. Let’s find out to what extent this director-hero duo succeeded in satisfying mass and class audience simultaneously and what Attharintiki daredi offers viewers.
Attarintiki Daredi Story:
Raghu Nandan (Boma Irani) is a crorepati staying in Italy. Gautam Nanda (Pawan Kalyan) is his grandson. He believes that real joy lies in relationships rather than in money. Though Raghu Nandan is stinkingly rich he is constantly worried about one thing. His daughter Sunanda (Nadiya) is far away from him. One fine morning he asks his grandson Gautam, ”Every year on birthday I used to give you a gift. This time I am asking you a gift. Will you bring your aunt?” Thus on the wish of his grandpa, Gautam comes to India for his aunt Sunanda. Sunanda owns a five star hotel but is in debts. Gautam saves Sunanda’s husband (Rao Ramesh) from an accident and gets close to him. He joins Sunanda’s family as driver with the name Siddu. Prameela (Praneetha) and Sasi (Samantha) are Sunanda’s two daughters. Joining as an ordinary driver Gautam solves aunt’s problems and creates a festive mood in the family. But a new problem surfaces. What’s that problem? How Gautam deals with it? Did he change his aunt’s mind? are the main parts of the story.
Coming to story, it’s not a great one. It’s not even a new story. But it has scope for narrating in a new way. Trivikram has utilised this opportunity. He has designed this family story around a mass hero like Pawan. This movie is a sweet shock for Powerstar fans. People who throng to theatres expecting Pawan style of masala will have a completely new experience. In crisp this movie is an answer for criticism, ”Why directors and heroes always think in the same old way and don’t come out of set formula?” In one word, this is not a movie to be done by Pawan. But credit has to be given for both Pawan and Trivikram for trying a family story instead of mass masala movie.
Trivikram’s movies are known for punches. At least one punch has to be there for every scene. Trivikram ran the movie living up to this expectation. Movie starts with Samantha’s kidnap episode. Story shifts to India after showing Pawan’s heroism in Italy. Nadiya’s home environs, Pawan’s hungama with two sister-in-laws (mardallu), his funny efforts to get into driver’s role, all these create comedy and take movie forward in an entertaining way. Emotions have been carried well in between these entertaining episodes. Though movie dulls a bit post interval, Trivikram quickly drags it back to track. Using his trademark punches and Powerstar’s style, Trivikram takes the movie to climax. With a bit of action, movie ends. With sentiment interspersed at appropriate moments Trivikram crafted it into a family movie.
Attarintiki Daredi Stars performances:
Unlike star heroes ‘one man show’ this movie is a three man show. Pawan, Trivikram and Devi Sri Prasad are the three pillars of this movie. Pawan steers a simple story in a very impressive way with his image and dialogue delivery. Though Pawan is a natural actor he goes overboard at times. This time Trivikram took care of that excesses and showed Pawan in a restrained way. Pawan appears very handsome in this movie. Trivikram has shown Pawan so glamorously that this is the first time Pawan is appearing so handsome after Kushi. All through the movie camera is focused on Pawan. There is nothing wrong in it. Because Pawan’s image is so much important for this story and movie. If this movie was done by any star other than Pawan Kalyan it would have been bombed.
Trivikram crafted even a normal scene as an excellent one with his taking values. Though Trivikram’s liking for rhyming dialogues has gone overboard at times, punches have clicked in a big way. ”Ammayira abhimanam vuntundhi..koduku nanna kopama vuntundhi”, ”ontlo pattu thaggaka..mee thathaki pattudala thagginda..” are just a few examples of Trivikram mark punches. Trivikram has done an excellent job both as a writer and director.
Everyone feels that Samantha has more importance and screen time. But both Praneetha and Samantha have equal importance, thus making justice for two heroine formula. While Praneetha entertains in the first half, Samantha sways audience in second half. In fact there is not much scope for both heroines in the movie. Nadiya has more importance than these young girls. Nadiya once again attracts after Mirchi. There is not much we can expect from Boman Irani. This role is not of his stature. Anyone could have done that. Ali and Brahmi just join the show. Rao Ramesh once again impresses.
Attarintiki Daredi Technicalities:
Technically movie is very impressive. Cinematography is excellent. Devi Sri Prasad’s music is a great asset. Songs are already hit. Devi has proved his prowess even in re-recording. He has shown great maturity in scenes involving deep emotion and sentiment. That’s why he is the third pillar of Attharintiki daredi. Editing and art direction chip in decently. Full credit goes to director for extracting such impressive work from all.
Aren’t there any demerits in Attharintiki daredi? There are… but Pawan’s image and performance pushes them into oblivion. Pawan does not appear like a driver at any moment. Don’t know whether that was done wantedly or proper care not taken. No one in the home says nothing even if he does so much hungama. But Trivikram has taken some care and narrated the reason for getting into home as driver through some characters. Some cinematic elements are there which have to be forgotten conveniently. Though its a family story, Trivikram has included action episodes at regular intervals to satisfy Pawan Kalyan fans.
Attarintiki Daredi Final Say:In crisp, Attharintiki daredi is a class movie by an action hero who has a cult mass following. That does not mean that it’s an out right class flick. There are also enough mass ingredients. Film makers have made an commendable attempt of coming up with a family movie with a star hero, which can be watched by the whole family together. There is no doubt that, this Trivikram style flick made with the aim of entertaining audience of all sections, will sure hit the bull’s eye. So all Powerstar fans, get ready for celebrations.
Pawan kalyan, Samantha and Pranitha starrer up coming movie is Attharintiki Daaredhi. This is a full length family entertainer movie in which, Pawan Kalyan playing the character name called Goutham Nanda along with Samantha and Pranitha in the female lead.Bollywood actor Boman Irani making his debut in Tollywood through this movie. The movie has completed its censor formalities and got clean “U” Certificate.Trivikram Srinivas is directing this movie under BVSN Prasad’s production banner Sri Venkateswara Cine Chitra.Devi Sri Prasad is scoring music for the film. The movie is going to hit the screens on August 9th.

Movie : Chennai Express (2013)
Cast: Deepika Padukone,Shah Rukh Khan,Kapil Sharma,Kajol,Manorama,Sathyaraj,Priyamani,
Director: Rohit Shetty
Producer: Gauri Khan
Music Director: Vishal–ShekharHoney Singh
Release Date: Friday, August 9, 2013
Rating :4/5
It has been a while since Shah Rukh Khan scored a massive blockbuster. He has teamed up with Deepika Padukone and Rohit Shetty for the film ‘Chennai Express’. The absence of any competition at the Box Office and a huge release will work in the movie’s favour. Will SRK score this time? Let us find out.
Story :
Rahul (Shah Rukh Khan) is the grandson of a famous sweetmeats merchant. He is immensely wealthy, but he is not too happy with his life. As fate would have it, he is forced to get onto the ‘Chennai Express’. His grandmother tasks him with immersing grandpa’s ashes in the holy city of Rameshwaram.
On the train, he meets the very pretty Meenamma (Deepika Padukone). Meenamma is the daughter of a Tamil Don (played by Sathyaraj). She runs away from home, in order to escape an arranged marriage.
Rahul gets caught in between and a comical game of cat and mouse starts. Rahul must now run for his life to save himself and Meenamma from the goons. And as can be expected, love blossoms between the two.
Will Rahul successfully escape? Will he save Meenamma from an unhappy marriage alliance? That forms the story of ‘Chennai Express’.

Performances:

Deepika essays her role with immense confidence and delight almost to make you reminiscent of her last screen outing with SRK. This film emphatically recounts how she has traversed a long way from her amateurish acting in Om Shanti Om. She doesn’t bend under pressure of an obviously magnanimous co-actor rather carves for herself a delightful and entertaining space to compliment Shah Rukh. With a perfect diction and correct comic timing, she gives a delicious crackling feat to savor as Meenamma!
King Khan remains King Khan for a reason and he doesn’t disappoint. As Rahul he is befitting as ever. He romances with the same charm as always even trying his hand at action which isn’t really his forte. His inspired performance and marvelous chemistry with Deepika is what keeps you glued through the film’s sagging, repetitive bits.
Nikitin Dheer is robust but hardly has a role enough to perform. His chiseled body is quite a pretty sight but that’s all for him.

Plus Points :

If you are an SRK fan, you will love him in this movie. He is simply brilliant in the comedy sequences. It has been a while since we saw such an energetic performance from Shah Rukh Khan. Deepika Padukone is simply gorgeous. She has given a flawless performance and even manages to overshadow SRK in some sequences.
Deepika looks pretty in sarees and her chemistry with SRK is very strong. In fact, this chemistry between SRK and Deepika is what makes Chennai Express so entertaining.
Tamil actor Sathyaraj has a limited role but he has given a classy performance. Nikitin Dheer has imposing screen presence. There are a number of Tamil actors in the movie and they have performed adequately well.
The entertainment quotient in the film is quite high. Good comedy scenes, racy screenplay and nice performances work in the movie’s favour. The song ‘Titli Dil’ has been shot beautifully.
The climax sequence, though a little cliched, manages to engage viewers emotionally.
Minus Points :
Deepika’s fake Chennai accent in the film is a little irritating. Hey Rohit Shetty, no one speaks like that in Chennai dude. There is some unnecessary stereotyping as well.
Do not look for logic and intelligence in the plot. You won’t find it. The film has a very simple and linear story line. The pace drops slightly in the second half for some time. Some people might find the actions sequences a bit too loud.

Technical Aspects :

Dudley’s cinematography is a big asset for the movie. The south Indian locales have been captured quite beautifully. Vishal – Shekhar’s music and background score are good. The editor has done a pretty good job overall.
Rohith Shetty manages to keep the film’s pace racy and he has also succeeded in keeping the entertainment quotient high. The film is supposed to be a commercial entertainer and that is what it does. It entertains.
Verdict :
‘Chennai Express’ should bring cheer to SRK’s camp. The movie is quite enjoyable. SRK has given a very nice performance but Deepika Padukone takes the cake. If you can ignore the stereotypes and the fake Chennai accent, the film makes for an entertaining watch.

Rating:3.25/5
Verdict : 2 Songs are good (Aaradugula bullettu and time to party). All over audio and audio release function remained a good hit.

Aaradugula Bullet
singers: vijay prakash, KLR Karthikeyan
Lyrics: Sreemani
The introduction song both in the album and movie is completely a beat number. Lyrics are really good and catchy. Lyricist wrote the lyrics which apt pawan’s characterization. A good start for the album. It is a ‘can shuffle’ song
Bapu gari bomma
Singer: Shankar Mahadevan
Lyrics: devi sri prasad
A clean melody song with good beat given by devi from the album. Shankar mahadevan lent his voice again after ‘Aakasham ammai aithe’ in gabbar sing. The lyrics and the same consonant in the second syllable of each line (praasa) created more interest. The words used by lyricist for the song are funny and enjoyable. For ex: ‘Ammo, Old Monk Rammu’.
Deva Devam
Singers: Pallakad Shreeram, Rita
Lyrics: Ramjogayya Sastry
It’s a small bit describing the hero with classical touch. we can expect this song as a situational number. We need to wait and see for what scene it was composed. But a different classical piece from devi in the album.
Kiraaku
Singers : Narendra, David Simon
Lyrics : Ramjogayya Sastry
The Mass song, with a good opening rap by david is awesome number to hear.  Song is having high energy levels and can expect a good dance moves from pawan. A good foot tapping number.
Ninnu Chudagane
Singers : Devi Sri Prasad
Lyrics : Ramjogayya Sastry
A lazy song with good string beat by devi was a crazy number. Something different with the lyrics. An interesting and different number throughout the album. One of the hummable piece and was beyond devi’s touch. Music given was really a fest to the ears.
Time To Party
Singers : David Simon, Malgadi Shubha
Lyrics : Ramjogayya Sastry
A party song this time instead of a mass item number from devi sri prasad. It is heard that 4 heroins are going to dance with pawan in the song. Great composition and wiped out his old tag and formed a new one, from ‘as usual devi’  to  ‘some thing different devi’.

Title :Baadshah (2013)
Star Cast   : Jr. NTR, Kajal Aggarwal , Navdeep , Brahmanandam
Director     : Srinu Vaitla
Producer   : Bandla Ganesh Babu
Music : S. Thaman

Rating:3.75/5
Releasing on : April 05, 2013

Talk in One Line: First half ok.., Second half full 2 comedy.
Baadshah has received a U/A certificate from the Censor Board. A sources from the Board says that the film is a good action entertainer with all other commercial elements like comedy, romance, punch dialogues and good music. It has a routine story and weak climax. The second half is quite interesting, when compared to the first half. The source adds that the movie will not disappoint the film goers, who have huge expectations from it.
Story:
Baadshah (Jr NTR) is the youngest and most aggressive player in the international crime syndicate headed by Saadhu Bhai (Kelly Dorji). Baadshah’s father Ranjan (Mukesh Rushi) operates a very profitable casino in Macau and he is a trusted aide of Saadhu Bhai. Baadshah’s intelligence, ambition and aggression soon put him on a collision course with Saadhu Bhai and the Don wants to finish off the young upstart. With the help of rival Dons Crazy Robert (Ashish Vidyardhi) and Violent Victor (Pradeep Rawat), Saadhu tries to eliminate Baadshah and his family.
Saadhu also plans large scale terrorist attacks in all the major metros of India. Baadshah vows to foil the plans of Saadhu and to do this, he takes the help of Janaki (Kajal) and her father Jai Krishna Simha (Nasser). Jai Krishna Simha is the Police Commissioner of Hyderabad and he is a very strict head of a joint family that also includes Padmanabha Simha (Brahmanandam).
As the story progresses, it becomes clear that there is more to Baadshah than what meets the eye. He has a tragic past and a powerful motive for taking on Saadhu Bhai. What is that motive? Who is Baadshah? How does Padmanabha Simha fit into the plans of Baadshah? That forms the rest of the story.
Performance:
Junior NTR’s performance is going to be the main highlight in Baadshah. His flamboyant look, stylish action, trendy dance moves and dialogue delivery featured in the promos have already soared up the viewers’ expectations to sky high.
Sources from the production claim that Kajal Aggarwal, whose chemistry with NTR has already rocked the viewers in Brindavanam, is playing a different role in this film. She will impress you with some funny one liners. Her glamour is also expected to be a major asset for the movie.
Talented actor Navadeep is playing a villain in this flick Baadshah and his performance will also be a big asset to the film. Siddharth’s cameo, Mahesh Babu’s voice-over and Meenakshi Dixit’s item song will be among other attractions in the film.
Technical Departments:
Srinu Vaitla has already impressed the Telugu audience with his perfect direction and his comedy mark is the main secret to his success. The director, who has been adept in handling full length comedy films, looks very confident with Baadshah. He is going to feature Brahmanandam in a new way, which is going to be another highlight in the film.
S Thaman has composed music for soundtracks for Baadshah and Bollywood singers like Daler Mehndi and Baba Sehgal have crooned a couple of songs for it. The audio album has already rocked the music lovers and proved to be a big hit of the year. His soundtracks and background score are going to be main attraction in the technical front.
Four cinematographer like I Andrew, K V Guhan, Jayanan Vincent and R D Rajasekhar handled the camera work for Baadshah, which promises a visual feast to the audience. The movie has been shot in exotic locations like Italy, Switzerland and Bangkok. Some portions have also been canned at a private house in Hyderabad.
Above all these aspects, stylishly choreographed fights will be one among the major attraction of Baadshah. The choreography of dances will be another highlight of the film.
Gopimohan and Kona Venkat have penned powerful punch dialogues for Baadshah. Junior NTR’s dailogue – “Baadshah decide ayithe, war one side ayipoddhi” has grabbed the attention of many.
Final Say about NTR Baadshah:
Baadshah is slated to release in nearly 2000 screens across the globe and the tickets for the first three days have already been sold out in many centres. With the movie scheduled to hit the screens on April 5, it should be seen whether it will be able to reach the expectations of viewers.

(scroll down for conclusion)

Movie: Vishnwaroopam
Lead: Kamal ,Pooja Kumar
Direction:Kamal
Production:Kamal
Languages: Telugu,Tamil

STORY:
Viswanath(Kamal) is dance instructor in NewYork city and he is married to Nirupama(Pooja Kumar), she is nuclear oncologist by proffession. Their marriage doesn't run fruitfull, so she hires a private detective to spy on Kamal, to find out any flaws about him which might help her to get divorse. This private detective finds out that Kamal is muslim, which shocks Nirupama. Is Kamal muslim or hindu? what happens to the marriage of Kamal there after?... See on the Silver Screen
Star Performances
Kamal has done multishade character in this flick with ease and simplicity. Different getups used on him for characters looked apt . His classical dance steps with natural expressions and action sequence performed by him are gud.   Rahul Bose performance is excellent as Afghan muslim leader "Omar". He is definitely plus to the movie, his settled expressions at key scenes, leaves his mark on audience mind. Both Pooja Kumar and Andreia has nothing much space given in film, they are used to fill female casting. Dubbing given for pooja sounds very irritating on screen. Nassar and Shekhar Kapur roles are so short and they are not utilised to fullest.

Direction, Music & Technical Aspects :
Kamal's plan to run the film completely on his shoulders handling  direction, story, screenplay has back fired in executing the output. Sanu Varghese cinematography is fantastic and the only good thing in technical aspect. Big kudos to him for picturizing locations of Afghanistan beautifully and even the action scenes raises bar of film to Hollywood standards. Shankar Ehsaan Loy BGS is unimpressive and turns as big let-down at crucial scenes. There are two songs which also sounded average on screen. Editing by Mahesh Narayanan could be trimmed to little extent, especially in second-half.

Analysis:
Kamal Hassan has shown his Viswaroopam in acting with multi-shade character in this flick. Kamal bought smiles with feminine mannerisms as a Bharatnatyam guru, showed serious side as Wasim Ahmad Kashmiri who train Al-Qaeda men in Afghanistan. A small glimpse of Laden, American soldier attacks on Afghanistan and livelihood of Afghans are presented naturally. First half of the film looks confusing with scenes thrown without any connections from one to another. Screenplay is not crispy and never gives you a feel of spy thriller at any minute. Main characters introductions are given very simply in the movie. Few impressive things in the first half are the comic acts which Vishwanth character does, film introduction scene with pigeons and showing beautiful New York city.  Second half is where clarity about what actually Kamal's character is revealed to audience. The flashback scenes connecting with the present to reveal Kamal as Raw Agent of India is nice. Screenplay in the second half is racy compared to first half. The whole radio active bomb theme, new techniques and technology used by terrorist has been showcased, but not in a convincing way. Arabic and English is spoken in major portion of the film which kills the feel of normal people to get connected with key scenes. With no entertainment , couple of songs and including the theme of global terrorism do not sink with B, C, centre audiences.  One major thing should be appreciated about this flick, it has broken the theme of taking support of songs, to move story forward. Rich production values can be sensed at every frame in the film and art director 'Nancy Terryn' work of creating Afghanistan in Chennai is amazing.
Conclusion : Good Movie. Can Watch Once.

Vishnwa Roopam Movie review

Film: Talaash
Director: Reema Kagti
Cast: Aamir Khan, Rani Mukherji, Kareena Kapoor, Nawazuddin Siddiqui
Producer: Aamir Khan, Farhan Akhtar, Ritesh Sidhwani
Release Date: November 30,2012

RATING :3.5/5
Story:
Talaash starts off with a delectably picturised opening credit sequence that shows Mumbai in the dead of the night, set to the jazzy Muskaanein jhoothi hai. The sequence is captured beautifully by KU Mohanan (whose work on Aushim Ahluwalia’s Miss Lovely was among its redeeming qualities) in an attractive dark tint, a feature that remains admirably consistent throughout the film.
In Talaash, Reema Katgi has shown the dark side of Mumbai which hides behind its glamor. The movie opens with a car accident in which actor Armaan (Vivan Bhatena) dies and Inspector Surjan Singh Shekhawat (Khan) is the one to investigate the case. But soon he realises that there is more to the accident than what meets the eye.
On the other hand,  Surjan is fighting his own demons of the past. Surjan and his wife Roshni (Rani Mukherjee) lost their only child in an accident. Since then, the couple hardly communicates. Though Roshni undergoes therapy to accept the reality, Surjan spends restless, sleepless nights and becomes workaholic to avoid thinking about his son’s death. While investigating Armaan’s case Surjan comes across various people including a sex worker Rosie (Kareena Kapoor), who may have the missing link to the jigsaw puzzle.
Performances:
While the script is indeed the hero of the film, the cast brilliantly adds to the charm. Aamir Khan, as usual, has done perfect justice to his role. He has been successful in balancing the character of a helpless father and an honest cop while a deglamorised Rani Mukherji convincingly plays the role of a devastated mother and a caring wife. And Undoubtedly, Kareena Kapoor is at her seductive best in the movie. She looks beautiful despite her gaudy outfits.
The other shining star of Talaash is Nawazuddin Siddiqui, who is commendable in the role of a limping pimp.Reema Katgi and Zoya Akhtar have written a gripping story though we will not say that the movie is flawless. However, Kagti will keep you hooked and guessing till the end which
in itself is no small accomplishment! However, the actual brilliance of Talaash comes in its climax that shall leave you spellbound.
Anand Subaya’s editing is crisp and the the cinematography of Talaash is woth a praise as it brilliantly captures the red-light areas of Mumbai.

Music:
Ram Sampath’s music is wonderful, even though the background score sounds a tad like the Taj Group of Hotels’ signature music. The other thing that could have been completely avoided in the film is the railway station scene picturised on one of the key characters in the film, which sees him “do a Mazhar Khan”. It is very reminiscent of the classic Mazhar Khan scene in Ramesh Sippy’s Shaan (1980) in which he, as a cripple, paddles his way through the city on a flat board with wheels. This “borrowed sequence” just takes away from the film’s own pace and contemporary style. Other than that, Talaash is a markedly exciting film, possibly one of 2012’s best.
Final Word: Reema Kagti’s search for a loyal audience for her kind of cinema ends with Talaash, which seems poised to make some serious cash at the box office as a sure fire winner. Her debut film, Honeymoon Travels Pvt Ltd (2007) established her as someone to watch out for, and now, Talaash confirms the expectations weren’t off the mark in the least.Talaash is a delight to watch, because of the surprises it throws at you and by the power-packed performances by its cast. Though the first half of Talaash is a bit slow but still it’s enthralling, absorbing and engaging.

TIP OF MOVIE : It is as we used to say in the old days, a total paisa vasool.

MOVIE :KRISHNAM VANDE JAGAD GURUM

Direction: Krish
Genre: Action
Duration: 2 hours 15 minutes
RELEASE DATE : 30-12-12

Rating : 4/5

Synopsis: B Tech Babu (Rana) is the grandson of Subramanyam (Kota), a descendent of Surabhi theatre family. Babu goes back to his native village, Bellari, to fulfill Subramanyam's last wish, but destiny has something else in store.

Movie Review: Some filmmakers have one overriding theme running across their films. With Krish's movies the theme seems to be "accidental transformation." of the protagonist i.e. Invariably the central characters in his movies end up rising above the self in the course of the film, a quest for nirvana, so to speak of. In his first film, Gamyam, the protagonist, Abhi Ram goes from being a rich brat to an enlightened soul over a bike ride across the state. Vedam is a similar tale of self-discovery of five underdogs - a rock star, prostitute, cable guy and a terrorist. In this film the hero is a young man looking to break away from his roots in a search for a better life.

B Tech Babu is a disgruntled young man, unwilling to bear the burden a great family legacy rooted in theatre. He is the only grandson of a popular Surabhi theatre thespian, Subramanyam, who believes theatre is the only way of life. Babu though tends to differ. A qualified engineer, he sees no point in living a life of penury struggling to make ends meet, in the name of continuing the family tradition. He makes plans to fly to the USA to lead a comfortable life instead. He agrees to put on the grease paint for one last time to fulfil his grandfather's dream of performing in the Bellary Natakotsavam. But then Subramanyam passes away suddenly, leaving the theatre group in complete disarray. They decide to go their way after one final performance in Bellary.

Soon after entering Bellary, Babu runs into Devika (Nayanthara), a journalist working on a documentary to expose the underground mining being carried by Reddyappa, a vicious mining magnate who reigns supreme in the region. Soon enough, Babu earns the wrath of Reddyappa (Milind). It turns out the two have a score to settle which is revealed in a couple of flashback episodes before leading up to a dramatic climax.

We need to talk about Rana's performance in the movie. It is easily his best performance till date and is a few notches above everything else he's done till date. He seems to have worked hard on his diction, dancing and comic timing as well and it shows. Nayanthara does a decent job of playing a hard-nosed journalist. It isn't a very strong character but it isn't really dumb either. Kota Srinivasa Rao is his usual self as is Brahmanadam doing his thing playing a danseuse.

The writing is easily the best part of the movie. The dialogues are crisp, witty and poetic at the same time. The background score by Mani Sharma raises the emotional quotient of the film while giving it a surreal feel. There is plenty of high octane action episodes rolled in along with the mandatory dream song sequences as well.

Director Kirsh seems to have finally found a commercially viable template for his style of cinema. There is still plenty of scope for improvement though. It's just that the emotional curve of the movie is strong enough to keep your attention away from the flaws of logic and issues of ideological integrity. However, it all adds up to makes for an interesting viewing in the end.

Tip Off: It's engaging for sure, but there isn't enough for the front rows to whistle about besides a lone item number.

Compitators for the movie :

  • Dhamarukham (Nagarjuna , Anushka)
  • Bus Stop (Prince , Nandita )

Director Trivikram Srinivas latest Telugu movie Julayi starring Allu Arjun and Ileana D'Cruz in leads, is a mass entertainer, which has all the masala elements like good music, dance, comedy, action and beautiful locations and costumes. Although it has a weak story and few other drawbacks, it is perfect treat for a family audience this weekend.
Allu Arjun's performance is the major highlight of the film. Arjun-Ileana's on-screen chemistry, Devi Sri Prasad's music, Brahmanandham and Hema's comedy timing, Trvikram Srinivas' excellent direction and dialogues, Peter Hein's stunts, beautiful locations and costumes are other attractions of the movie. The big drawback of the film is its storyline.
Julayi is all about making easy money. The movie revolves around the story of an aimless guy, who sets on to make easy money, but realises the difficulties as he starts his journey towards the goal. No doubt, the first half of the film is superb with its series of comedy episodes, music and dance. The film turns very sentimental with its multiple twists in the second half. But its narration takes a slow pace as it moves towards climax.
Ravindra Narayan (Allu Arjun) is a middle class guy, who believes in making quick money. But he will never resort to illegal activities. But his father Narayana Murthy (Tanikella Bharani) believes in hard work. Ravindra comes in the way of Bittu (Sonu Sood), who plans a bank robbery of Rs 1,500 crore. When he gets the information, he informs police commissioner Manikyam (Rao Ramesh) and gets Bittu caught. In the process, Bittu's brother Lala (Shafi) gets killed. A furious Bittu swears to take revenge on Ravindra. However, Commissioner Manikyam packs off Ravindra secretly to Hyderabad as he had the responsibility to save the witness. What happens next will form the crux of the film.
Allu Arjun has delivered a wonderful performance in the film Julayi. He looks very energetic in dance and action sequences. His comedy timing throughout the movie keeps the viewers glued to the screen. Though, his love interest, Ileana D'Cruz has less space to show skills, she rocks the audience in songs. A special mention should be made about Brahmanandham and Hema's rib tickling comedy. Others like Sonu Sood as Bittu, Rajendra Prasad, Thanikella Bharani, Kota Sreenivasarao have also delivered excellent acting for their respective role.
Devi Sri Prasad's music is the major attraction in the technical front. He has given foot tapping beats and his compositions like 'O Madhu', 'Pakado Pakado' and 'Julayi' are sure to rock the audience. The cinematography of Chota K Naidu and Shyam K Naidu in song sequence is simply superb. Prawin Pudi's editing is also commendable. Trivikram's dialogues are excellent.
Verdict: Watch Julayi for Allu Arjun's energetic performance, Devi Sri Prasad's music, Trivikram's witty dialogues, Sonu Sood's great action, Rajendra Prasad's performance and Ileana's glamour. It is a perfect mixture of performances. The film has everything for the audience of all class and age group.
